The National Energy & Fuels Institute (NEFI) and the NEFI Education Foundation are pleased to announce that Jim Collura has been appointed to the position of President & CEO. The appointment went into effect on Nov. 1, following a comprehensive executive search.
Collura has led NEFI’s public policy, government affairs and communications programs since 2005. Most recently, he served as the organization’s Acting President & CEO, ensuring continuance of its advocacy efforts while also providing stable leadership during a period of transition. Prior to joining NEFI, he worked on Capitol Hill for a prominent U.S. Senator from New Hampshire and, later, a national faith-based organization.
“Jim’s deep understanding of our industry, gained through nearly two decades of service to NEFI and its members, made him the clear choice to lead our organization,” said NEFI Board Chair Ted Noonan.
“His proven track record in advocacy and association leadership, combined with his intimate knowledge of our members’ needs, positions NEFI for continued success in advancing our industry’s interests.”
Added Collura, “I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to working with all NEFI members, staff, and industry partners as we strengthen our organization and its advocacy efforts, enhance member services, and execute our ambitious strategic initiatives.
“The NEFI mission is so incredibly vital, and it is imperative that our members continue to be heard in Washington and across the nation.”
Under Collura’s leadership, NEFI plans to continue its strong focus on federal and state advocacy while implementing its recently adopted three-year strategic plan. Key priorities include strengthening industry partnerships, enhancing member services, and advancing the industry’s commitment to renewable liquid heating fuels and the deployment of high efficiency space heating technologies.
Through strong member engagement, advocacy and its various membership benefits and events, NEFI has worked to protect and advance the interests of the U.S.’s heating fuel businesses since 1942. Today, the organization represents wholesale and retail heating fuel distributors and related service companies throughout the U.S., providing them with a unified voice in Washington and essential resources for business success.
