Melvin Dubin, founder and Chairman Emeritus of Slant/Fin Corp, passed away last week at the age of 92. Dubin started Slant/Fin from the back of a Coney Island, NY bakery in 1949 and oversaw its growth into the international supplier of boilers, baseboards and other radiant heating equipment it is today.
Born and raised in New York, Dubin was a U.S. Army veteran and a benefactor to a number of worthy causes, including the Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, the North Shore LIJ Health System, the Lymphatic Research Foundation and the American Technion Society, among others.
Dubin is survived by his son Adam, current Slant/Fin Chairman, daughter-in-law Rachele and granddaughters Alyx and Nella. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested contributions to United Jewish Appeal, the American Technion Society or the Tilles Center for Performing Arts.
