St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada-based Dowler-Karn, a distributor of gasoline, propane and other energy products, is celebrating its 75th anniversary by teaming up with the Esso community program. Up to $125,000 in donations will be made to various charities and non-profits across Windsor-Essex through the “Fueling Communities Giveaway.” Applicants from 140 organizations have already requested $1.2 million, causing Dowler-Karn to raise its initial $75,000 donation to $125,000. The company has accepted requests from 47 of those organizations thus far including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor-Essex, which received $2,000 and the John McGivney Centre, which received $10,000. The Dowler-Karn website, dowlerkarn.com/community-grant-program/, provides information about applying to the “Community Grant Program.”
