Mark Kohnen, a longtime HVAC employee and now instructor at Kaskaskia College, Centralia, IL, has created a scholarship for HVAC students at the college as a way to give back after a rewarding career in HVAC, according to a Herald Publications report.
Kohnen began his career by working as a shop person at a family-owned HVAC company at the age of 13. In college, he pursued a degree in HVAC and actively worked in the HVAC trade. After getting diagnosed with a heart issue at the age of 40, Kohnen turned to teaching.
