Effective April 1, Daikin will unify its Daikin, Goodman and Amana HVAC brands under a new corporate name to create a focus on environmental advancement.
Now called Daikin Comfort Technologies, the company has consolidated its brands’ manufacturing, engineering, logistics, marketing and sales under a 4 million sq ft industrial complex at Daikin Texas Technology Park, Houston, TX. It will house 10,000 team employees will be one of the largest manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Daikin said. The new company will provide solutions in unitary, ductless and light commercial (including VRV) products in North America.
“We are leveraging Daikin’s leadership in environmentally-friendly indoor comfort technologies, such as our inverter and heat pump solutions,” said CEO Saturo Akama. Daikin has low global warming potential (GWP) R-32 products. This new unit will facilitate wider usage of inverter, heat pump and R-32 products throughout North America.
Organizationally, Daikin Comfort Technologies has a new group, the Environmental Promotion Office, a newly consolidated sales and marketing group, a unified customer service function and a new distribution arm called Daikin Comfort Technologies Distribution, Inc., formerly called Goodman Distribution, Inc.
