Carrier employees kicked off Carrier’s 25th consecutive home build through Indy’s Habitat for Humanity. More than 90 Carrier employees joined forces for a day of volunteerism, building the panels that will soon become the new home for Montez Day. In addition to the new home, Carrier also plans to make a $125,000 contribution to Indy Habitat for Humanity’s mission, and will continue donating high efficiency home comfort systems as part of Carrier’s Healthy Homes Program.
Carrier is committed to supporting organizations that help to deliver and educate on healthy, safe, sustainable and intelligent indoor environments. This is one of seven builds planned between Carrier and Habitat for Humanity through its Home is the Key campaign. Carrier is proud to support Habitat for Humanity’s Home is the Key Campaign as the signature Healthy Homes partner for 2022. Later this year, Carrier will also support the rebuild of Lafitte, Louisiana, a community devastated by Hurricane Ida. Carrier has teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to help address the barriers to healthy and safe housing that millions of people and their families face.
“As Indy Habitat for Humanity’s longest running home-build sponsor, we are proud to provide solutions that help the homeowners achieve healthier air and embrace standards for more comfortable, sustainable and efficient homes, now and in the future,” said Justin Keppy, President, NA Residential & Light Commercial HVAC, Carrier. “Today, every home built has a Carrier system. We look forward to our continued relationship with Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity and are pleased to participate in one of the seven builds Carrier has planned across the country in 2022 for Habitat for Humanity’s Home is the Key campaign.”
Creating a healthy, affordable, indoor environment is critical to the long-term success of Habitat homeowners. To date, Carrier has donated over 600 home solution systems and countless employee-led volunteer hours to Habitat builds. All Habitat homes feature Carrier heating and cooling systems that deliver improved indoor air quality for occupants and are energy efficient such as a Smart Air Purifier with a HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns including pollen, smoke, and other allergens and a Kidde smoke and carbon monoxide detector. Carrier is dedicated to positively impacting our communities by enabling access to healthier, safer, more efficient and productive indoor environments through our indoor air quality and fire and security solutions.
“Carrier and its team embody what it means to invest as a company in their community,” said Jim Morris, President & CEO, Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity. “As our longest running corporate partner, Carrier will once again help provide affordable homeownership to local families through hundreds of hard-working volunteers, quality heating and cooling systems, and generous financial support. This continued commitment helps advance the Habitat for Humanity mission to build homes, communities and hope.”
