Ingersoll-Rand plc has acquired the technology assets and intellectual property of Raleigh, N.C.-based Agilis Energy, LLC, an energy data analytics company, for an undisclosed sum.
Agilis Energy helps large commercial, multi-family residential and industrial companies save 10-25% on energy annually using a patented, digital energy analytics application. Trane Energy Optics currently uses Agilis Energy’s analytics software during energy assessments. The acquisition will further help Ingersoll Rand’s Trane Energy Services business understand customers’ energy usage patterns, the company said.
As part of the acquisition, Agilis’ CEO, CTO and co-founder Joe Hirl will become Ingersoll Rand’s new VP of HVAC energy services and controls in North America.
