The National Energy & Fuels Institute (NEFI) will host a webinar on Wednesday, September 25, designed to empower businesses in navigating complex policy discussions with legislators and other policymakers. The webinar is scheduled for 2:00 PM EDT and registration is required. This event is part of NEFI’s 2024 Election Season Webinar Series and is open to heating fuel distributors, home comfort professionals and other industry stakeholders. It is closed to the press.
With the 2024 election year well underway, engaging with policymakers—whether at town hall meetings, rallies or private events—is more important than ever, according to NEFI. It is critical for heating fuel distributors and home comfort providers to clearly communicate the benefits of services and renewable heating fuels, especially with politicians that may hold differing views.
This webinar will provide attendees with tools and techniques to effectively advocate for their business when speaking with legislators, local officials and candidates for office. Attendees will learn how to communicate their expertise and concerns in a way that resonates, especially with those who may not understand their business or its importance for their constituents, local jobs and the economy.
Panelists will include: Anne Steckel, Principal, Ardent Strategies; Michael Trunzo, Director of Government Affairs, Shenker Russo & Clark LLP; and Jim Gordon, VP, O’Neill & Associates. Together, these panelists offer decades of advocacy experience and will share valuable insights into engaging effectively with policymakers who may hold opposing views. These skills will be vital during this election season and beyond, and can be applied to lobby days, one-on-one meetings and site visits from policymakers and their staff.
