NORA fuel testing service available

As the heating season approaches, consistent fuel quality is essential for heating systems to run reliably and efficiently. To help ensure that customers’ fuel is up to the task, NORA offers free fuel quality testing at its Liquid Heating Fuels Chemistry Lab in Plainview, NY. 

With the ability to test for water, biodiesel content, oxidative reserve, acid number and filterable particles, NORA’s customized report will show the possible source of the fuel related service problem and NORA’s included recommendations for remediation will provide a path to improved fuel quality.

When sending samples, please include: 

• One quart of fuel from the bleeder in a new, clean container (paint can type is best; NORA can provide if requested) 
• Fuel unit 
• A sample from the tank bottom: Optional, but may aid in problem solving. 
• If two samples are sent, identify each (bleeder or bottom)
