Pennsylvania Petroleum Association To Pursue One Fuel Sulfur Standard For PA– Off Road, Diesel, Heating Oil

At the Fall Energy Conference, Pensylvania Petroleum Association (PPA) voted to pursue the adoption of state rules that would require all fuels—on road diesel, off road diesel and heating oil—to comply with 15 ppm sulfur limits and a 2% biodiesel requirement.

The Association has long supported a move to one fuel in the state. The tremendous savings in transportation logistics and storage costs alone merit this position.
The panel at the convention’s Future of Pennsylvania Of Pennsylvania Fuels seminar cited the trend in government policy and competitive fuel development that pointed to a need for the oil heat industry to advocate for this cleaner fuel.
PPA is preparing education materials and the strategy to achieve implementation of the one fuel requirement.
The Heating Fuels And Motor Fuel Committees will be working to coordinate this effort.
