The Shaffer Co., Bristol, CT, has acquired the assets of Beacon Mechanical Service, LLC, an HVAC, plumbing, and heating oil delivery business in Granby, CT. The transaction closed on Sept. 29. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2003 by members of the Riggott family, Beacon Mechanical began as a one-truck mechanical contracting business operating from a kitchen table. Today, a fleet of 30 vehicles provides dependable service to customers in central Connecticut.

The history of The Shaffer Company dates to 1890, when it began as a small plumbing shop in Bristol, CT.

Cetane Associates served as the sole arranger and financial advisor to Beacon Mechanical Service.
